USS Salem CA-139 was a U.S. Navy heavy cruiser and the second ship of the Des Moines class of heavy cruisers. She was laid down in July 1945, christened and launched in March 1947, and commissioned in May 1949.

After her commissioning, she spent most of her time on training exercises and rescue missions in Europe. She was decommissioned in January 1959 without ever seeing combat, and after being preserved in mothballs, she was opened to the public as a museum ship in Quincy, Massachusetts in October 1994.
