Very Fire 700901DX 1/700 USS Montana Battleship Deluxe Version

This is a plastic model kit, which comes unassembled and unpainted. So glue, model paints and other basic modelling tools are additionally required

USS Montana (BB-67) was a planned but never built American World War II battleship. The ship was expected to have an overall length of 280.9 meters and a beam of 37 meters. Full displacement would have reached approximately 71,000 tons, and a maximum speed of approximately 28-29 knots. Onboard armament would have included 12 406 mm guns in four three-gun turrets, 20 127 mm guns, and 56 20 mm anti-aircraft guns. The ship could likely have carried up to three seaplanes.

The USS Montana (BB-67) was intended to be the lead ship of the Iowa-class battleship. This class of battleships was to complement the Iowa-class ships in the line. Compared to their predecessors, the Montana-class ships would be significantly better armed and armored, but would have a lower maximum speed. Based on their design, the Montana-class battleships would undoubtedly be the most powerful ships of their type in the US Navy and among the most powerful in the world. Their only real opponent would be the Japanese Yamato-class battleships. Construction of the USS Montana (BB-67) was approved in July 1940 as part of the US Navy's "Two Ocean Navy" expansion plan. Construction was to be carried out at the Philadelphia Navy Yard in Pennsylvania. However, in light of the experience of the Battles of the Coral Sea and Midway, the US Admiralty prioritized aircraft carrier development, and in July 1943, construction of the USS Montana was canceled. Thus, the ship was never launched.
