In July 1941, Willys Overland carried off the contract responding to a strict specification sheet concerning a small multi-purpose cross-country vehicle, easy to drive, to upkeep and to repair. Assembling was straightforward, using just the necessary parts. The jeep was born: a "great looking“ perennial vehicle.
